When you eat hot peppers, the pain receptors on the tongue react and cause a physical reaction called "sweating." You start to salivate and perspire, your nose runs, your metabolism speeds up--this is all the body's reaction working to cool itself.

Step 2
Soil & Temperature
  |
Sandy soils are preferred for cucumber production because they warm up faster in the spring. Temperatures ranging from 86-90F with night temperatures above 70F provide for optimum cucumber growth. The rich West Texas soil where Best Maid/Del Dixi grows cucumbers is ideally situated for producing some of the finest cucumbers in North America.
